Prayer alert!

Nate is experiencing a pretty rough day today while his body is trying to adjust to the dozen or more medicines prescribed for his healing process. Specifically, today, until his body metabolizes one of the anti-rejection drugs, he is in a lot of pain, feeling like his hands and feet are on fire.

Thanks for praying!

Nate,

Our prayers are with you each day. It's a miracle you and your dad are home already. My Aunt and cousin went through this same procedure 3 years ago, so we know to pray for your daily health and acceptance of the kidney, while handling all the medications.
"I will lay down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, let me dwell in safety."
Blessings,

Hi Tim,

Your family has been on my heart and tears come to my eyes because as you know this is close to home. Your surgery was on Paul's birthday. As we celebrated his life I couldn't help but think about the second chance at life that Nate was receiving from you. I saw the picture of the two of you, you both look great! Nate looks so different from the time we met him in the hospital. He looks so healthy.

The days following the transplant are rough as the doctor's are working out the right dosages of all the medications. I can remember at one time Paul wondering if it was worth it. I know he would tell you now without hesitation that it was certainly worth it. Just keep Nate's doctor's informed of all the symptoms he is feeling. (Paul was shaking so bad from an overdose of medication that he looked like he had Parkinson's) Paul did have one episode of rejection, which they tell you is normal, but has not had another episode since.

Some things to look forward to...Paul has a blood test once a month, and only see's his transplant doctor's once a year, the number of pills is way less than when he started and takes them once in the morning and once in the evening. Paul has his health back and life is as normal as life gets. He really doesn't experience any side effects from the medications. Just a little more hair from the steroids, unfortunately, for him it skips the top of his head altogether.

I pray you will continue to heal and quickly from your surgery.

Blessings to you and yours this Christmas season as you celebrate our Lord and Nate's health.

Desiree and Paul

Tim & Nate:

We are continuing to keep you in prayer that God will continue to work in your individual lives, in your mutual love, in your family, and in al those around you as an expression of his will. I personally continue to pray as you have shown by example that God's will might done and he will reign in each of us. Thank you for yor positive encouragement and shining example to each of us. I admir and love your example in constant prayer that shows miracles to be possible today similar to those reveal in Biblical passages.

I love the photo. You should have it enlarged and framed to put up every Christmas as a Christmas decoration. I pray for all of you as you deal with Nate's pain. Jacques told me later that he wanted me there, but that I talked too much on the day he dealt with his most pain. It is hard to be the one in the pain and it is hard to be the one watching your beloved son in pain. It seems incongrous, but healing often actually does seem to bring pain on the way to complete wellness. Be of good courage, He is with you through all things. Your friend, Joy Thomas

Tim and Nathan,
It is amazing to see God's grace and provision! This picture brought tears to my eyes...I have been praying for you, Nathan since I first heard about your condition and for both of you as the months progressed and we found out that Tim might be your kidney donor. You are both in my daily prayers and I am so excited that you are both home and fairing well. Continue to heal and get lots of rest!!
